About Janet

Janet Hampson, Manchester Casting Director

Janet Hampson casts award winning shows.

With over 20 years experience working with the best directors, producers and writers her credits range from ITV (Coronation Street), UFA Fiction, BBC1 (Citizen Khan), BBC2 (Hebburn), BBC3 (C-Bomb, Lunch Monkeys), CBBC (Class Dismissed and The Johnny & Inel Show) and Sky (The Cruise, Little Crackers).

Janet initially trained and worked as an actor with credits in film, theatre, TV and radio.  She moved into casting via producing pop promos, before celebrity booking for the BBC.  She has also produced for BBC Radio Drama, BBC3 and E4.  This gives her a great understanding of what makes the perfect cast – and she knows where to find them. She is a member of the Casting Directors’ Guild of Great Britain and Ireland (CDG) and a guest tutor at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
